Ideas for Fueling Romance
|
  
Have You.....
1. Told your wife today that you love her. (It doesn't count if you used the word "too", as in "I love you, too!")
2. Sacrificed lately out of YOUR expenses (coffee money, lunch money, etc.), and given your wife a "surprise gift".
3. Swooped your wife up from the dinner table and danced with her to a favorite tune (in front of the children).
4. Embarrassed yourself for the sake of love, by pulling the car over, getting out and dancing with your wife at the side of the road when one of HER favorite romantic songs comes on the radio.
5. Found a romantic poem from a book/magazine/newspaper, and taken it home. Set the mood with music and a candle, and read it to your wife, telling her it reminded you so much of her.
6. Made or purchased a small "Award of Excellence" for your wife, and presented it to her, with a small speech.
7. Drawn a childlike hand-drawn picture of you and your wife holding hands in the sunshine, written below it "Loving you makes me feel like a child again!", and taped it to the refrigerator door with your children's artwork.
8. Written a note and left it on the bathroom mirror or the window over the kitchen sink, that says "The only thing that makes this day bearable is knowing that at the end of it, I get to come home to YOU!"
9. Planned a date for your wife and you, where you have taken the initiative in doing all the planning, including letting her know what to wear, and when to be ready.
10. Asked your wife on a surprise date for Saturday. Told her to dress up and expect the "unexpected", then taken her to a fancy hotel or banquet room facility for the wedding reception buffet of a couple you don't know? Mingled, ate, danced a little, then slipped out.
11. Bought or located a pot and soil for planting. Taken your wife to a nursery together, picked out three flowers, brought them home, and planted them together. Then, together done an internet search for "flower meanings", to find out if those three flower types fit together, based on their meanings.
12. Asked your wife to go for a walk after helping her clean up the dinner dishes, taken her hand, asked her to walk on the inside, furthest away from cars because you want to protect her, and just strolled her around the block.
13. Called your wife from work to ask her out for a "Lucky Coin" dinner. Placed an egg timer in your car, and taken along a coin. Then tell your wife you will take her to dinner wherever you end up in 20 minutes. First, set the egg timer for 4 minutes, flipped the coin. If it's heads, turned left when the timer goes off; if tails, turned right. Continued same process each 4 minutes, 5 times. Wherever you are in those 20 minutes, stopped at the restaurant and eaten dinner.
14. Taken your wife to a restaurant, requested a booth, and after seating her, crawled right in the same seat with her, and told her that this evening, sitting ACROSS from her is just too far away.
15. Call a local community center to see when they will be having a one-class offering of painting, dancing, or photography. Send an email invitation or make one that invites your wife to join you for this special time together.
16. Using an unlined sheet of 8-1/2" x 11" paper, write an invitation to your wife, asking her out on a "date". Cut the invitation into 10-15 puzzle pieces. Put them in an envelope and leave it for your wife to find.
17. Purchase a book of romantic short stories. Send an email invitation to your wife to "Monday Night Romance". When Monday evening arrives and the daily duties are done, throw comfy pillows on the bed, turn the lights down (except for a candle or two), turn on some low romantic instrumental music, then using a flashlight, read your wife one of the stories. When finished, turn off the flashlight, just cuddle with her on the bed for awhile.
18. Using a heart-shaped cookie cutter, set it on ice cream (in its container), pressing it in securely. Squeeze chocolate-shell sauce into the space within the cookie cutter. Leave it for 10 minutes, remove the cookie cutter, and allow your wife to find your visual "I Love You!" next time she is looking for an ice cream treat.
19. Invite your wife to a "Cooking for Two" date. Find a dinner menu in a cookbook that appeals to both of you. Make an ingredients list together, go shop at grocery store together for those ingredients, then prepare the meal together. Suggest that YOU set the table for the meal. Choose the diningroom. Set the table with flowers or something pretty in the center (something from your house). ALWAYS use candles. Use pretty china dishes, crystal, cloth napkins. Actually assist in the cooking preparations. Before sitting down to eat, light candles, turn on some low romantic music, and seat your wife. During the meal, allow your wife's ideas to guide the conversation. When the meal is through, offer your wife a hot drink (coffee, tea, cocoa), ask her to get comfortable on the sofa, and YOU do the cleanup work.
20. Affirmations are the perfect way to create greater love, romance and intimacy with your partner. For example: Before your husband/wife comes in the door, repeat out loud over and over again for about 1/2 hour, "Divine love is working through me now in creating the perfect romantic 'Lost in Each Other Evening' between ______ and me". 21. Treasure Hunt- and you're the treasure at the end. Place a note on the door telling your sweetie he's on a treasure hunt and he first needs to check the oil, not under the hood, but in the back seat. There you will have placed massage oils, next telling him to check the mail, inside he will find two tickets, (movie, concert, etc.) He will then then be directed to his tool box, where he will find your favorite spray. Next he will be directed to the TV. "There must be something on." He will find a silk scarf with a note telling him that you are hungry and to check the fridge. There he will find strawberries and cream with your favorite wine or sparkling cider. He will find a note, saying "I miss you, I want you, come quickly." He will then bring all the goodies and find you, his treasure, on the bed dressed ever so sexy! - Cammi Higley

22. When you two are lying in bed, just before you fall asleep, prop youself up next to her on your side. Remain silent. Let your eyes and gentle smile do the talking. Keeping eye contact, use your fingertips to gently brush away hair that might be in or near her face, stroke her cheek, lips, etc. Take a minute to just look at each other. Appreciate the beauty next to you. She'll love the special time you're taking to pay attention to her! I know I do! - Ashley.
